    Description

    A CHART OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN from California to the Philippines. 1776. A large map from the 1776 edition of “A VOYAGE AROUND THE WORLD” by George Anson. The map shows the coast lines of California, Mexico, Japan, the Philippines and numerous Pacific islands. It is printed on two joined sheets of hand laid paper . The sheet measures, overall 36” X 11.25” with 34.75” X 10.75” being the printed surface. Small closed tear (1”) at first fold and another about 6” at another fold. The larger tear is repaired on the reverse with acid free tape. Otherwise the condition is excellent.
